Graduating Levine Scholars are prepared — and eager — to make their mark
This week, 18 Levine Scholars — members of UNC Charlotte’s selective, top-merit award scholarship opportunity — will graduate during Spring Commencement. They join 100-plus Levine Scholars Program alumni who are applying academic, research, community engagement and global experiences to their fields and making an impact in their communities.
NEWS
- Commencement parking is free, and graduates and guests should park in the Popp Martin Student Union Deck for ceremonies and use the Commencement shuttle to travel to the stadium. Visit the Commencement page to view a parking map, learn more about the campus shuttle and accessibility options, parking closures and Niner Transit updates.
- The University’s wastewater testing has detected the presence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in its routine sampling in three residence halls.
COVID-19 Information
- Don't forget to fill out the COVID-19 vaccine reporting form once you receive your vaccine. Once submitted, you will be entered to win prizes, including your choice of a free parking permit for the upcoming academic year or $500 on your 49er ID card! You will also be exempt from the daily health check and mitigation testing.
- Exit testing is available through May 14. Members of the campus community may schedule an appointment Wednesday, May 12, through Friday, May 14. More information is available on the Niner Nation Cares website
YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: FACULTY & STAFF
- Family and Medical Leave Act Reminder (FMLA): Employees who are out of work due to a serious health condition or who need to care for a family member with a serious health condition may qualify for FMLA. Reference the FMLA webpage on the Human Resources website for more details.
- In the coming weeks, OneIT will tour offices and labs to help ensure University campus computers are powered on and connected to the network. Sign up to schedule a complimentary desktop check for your office.
YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: STUDENTS
- Student organization leaders on UNC Charlotte’s campus are now required to complete an anti-hazing online learning module as part of their organization’s annual registration or re-registration process. Annual registration is mandatory for all student organizations who wish to remain active in the 2021-22 academic year. All steps, including the anti-hazing course, must be completed prior to the Sept. 30 deadline.

- Theatre professor to receive Kennedy Center Medallion: Kaja Dunn is being recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for her work addressing issues of race in theatre education.

EVENTS
- 5/13: Train your lower body with UREC’s “Butts and Guts.” This virtual group fitness class will hit on all of the major muscle groups such as abdominals, glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and more. Get ready to squat and crunch with us in this 30-minute muscle endurance class!
- 5/18: In this online botanical drawing class, Amy Tipton will introduce participants to critical exploration of flowers and plants through dissection and investigation of several species of flowers. Participants will create a collection of detailed line drawings of what they see under magnification and be able to ask questions.
- 5/19: Enhance your experience with Google Docs. Learn a few tips and tricks that will make your work life much easier and productive.
