Saturday, Oct. 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Join 20,000 of your closest friends for a trip around the world at UNC Charlotte’s 42nd annual International Festival. Feast your senses (and appetites) on the sights, sounds and tastes of more than 50 countries and cultures. Plan to spend several hours, or the entire day, wandering through tents of brightly colored displays, tasting authentic cuisine from around the world and soaking up the atmosphere of song, dance and story.

Thursday, Oct. 19, 2:15 p.m.

Actress Laura Linney visits UNC Charlotte with the Chancellor’s Speaker Series – part of the UNC Charlotte Civic Series presented by Bank of America. Her films include “Mystic River,” “Love Actually” and “The Truman Show.” You probably know her from Showtimes’ “The Big C,” the HBO miniseries “John Adams” and the current Netflix hit “Ozarks.” 
 



Linney will meet with students, faculty and staff to discuss the importance of infusing creativity into all aspects of life at 2:15 p.m. in Robinson Hall (register here) and host a hands-on master class for students following. 2017 Homecoming Weekend

Friday through Sunday, Oct. 19 - 21

Niner Nation is gearing up for a spirit-filled Homecoming week including crowd favorites like the Homecoming Parade, the Green and White Social, the Homecoming football game against the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers, Oktoberfest, Alumni Tailgate Village and the BAC After Party. Curious about the upcoming 49er basketball season? Join men’s and women’s basketball coaches Mark Price and Cara Consuegra for a preview of their upcoming seasons. The Alumni Association hosts the reception at Cabarrus Country Club for alumni to mingle and network, with heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages included in the $5 registration.

 

 

 

 

Charlotte Kids Fest

Saturday, Oct. 28, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Play, discover, create and learn – that’s the theme of the 2017 Charlotte Kids Fest being held at UNC Charlotte. Enjoy Lego robotics and science demos, create magic and discover the performing arts, try yoga and that special hula hoop class. Perfect for kids 10 and under, the festival is free to attend - and it all benefits the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library Foundation.

The main stage is full of performers to keep you moving, and some of your favorite food trucks will be on hand including Papi Queso, King of Pops and Golden Cow Creamery.
