  3. Strong Connections: Students from an International Studies class get a personal visit from Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who was on campus as part of the University’s Founders Celebration

  4. Major Win: UNC Charlotte was awarded a $4 million grant from the National Science Foundation to develop a multidisciplinary research program to create new ways to manage, use and share Big Data.
