Community Coup

Bill Anderson has made his mark in Charlotte public education in a career spanning several decades. He is a much admired man, and one of our very own. Anderson completed his master’s degree in education in 1989 and a doctorate in 2001.

The former executive director of the public education advocacy group MeckEd, Anderson joins the College of Education as special assistant to the dean for community relations. A teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for a decade, Anderson was a principal for 14 years and has spent the last nine with educational nonprofit organizations.

Anderson will focus on developing relationships with schools, businesses and local community groups. In his spare time, he’ll teach, write grants, direct special projects and aid development with fundraising efforts.
