Kids Fest
11 a.m. to 4 p.m., UNC Charlotte
Looking for a fun and free way to entertain the family AND inspire their minds? Look no further than the 2018 Kids Fest at UNC Charlotte. The festival boasts several different zones: “Discover,” “Play,” “Dance” and “Learn” with Lego robotics, interactive dance performances, martial arts and more. Add live music, a Storytime Stage, crafts plus STEM activities, and you’ve got your day planned. With more than 12 food trucks (including City BBQ and King of Pops), you can satisfy your appetite right on site. Located directly across from the J.W. Clay station, LYNX Blue Line makes it easier than ever to get to campus.

The Gifted Generation – When Government Was Good
6:30 p.m., UNC Charlotte Center City
Things aren’t what they used to be. Award-winning professor and noted author David Goldfield looks back to post-WWII America when the Baby Boom generation was “gifted” with the GI bill, environmental protection and educational access that took the nation to new heights. Goldfield explores how that has changed as government worked for the few rather than the many, restricting the opportunities of subsequent generations.

It’s that special time of year when 49ers across the nation (and globe) come together to show their Niner pride. #NinerNationGives is UNC Charlotte’s fourth annual digital fundraising event allowing our 49er family to support special challenges and focus areas such as Charlotte 49ers Athletics, Greek Life and the famous Battle of the Colleges. Alumni and friends from Charlotte, North Carolina to Denver, Colorado, will be celebrating together – meet up and network with your fellow classmates in the following locations:

Join the College of Arts + Architecture for its annual Faculty Dance Concert with five featured works by faculty choreographers and guest performers. The choreographic styles, from classical Indian dance to circus arts and physical theater to varied contemporary dance styles, represent a broad range of movement, expressions and intentions, exploring current social issues and shared human experiences.

43rd Annual International Festival
10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Barnhardt Student Activity Center, UNC Charlotte
Join 20,000 of your closest friends for a trip around the world at UNC Charlotte’s 43rd annual International Festival. Feast your senses (and appetites) on the sights, sounds and tastes of more than 50 countries and cultures. Plan to spend several hours, or the entire day, wandering through tents of brightly colored displays, tasting authentic cuisine from around the world and soaking up the atmosphere of song, dance and story.
Festival entry and parking are free; food vendors and booths offer items for sale. Check out LYNX Blue Line to make your trip to campus even easier.
