Annual Spring Plant Sale set for April 18-19

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

UNC Charlotte’s Botanical Gardens will hold its annual Spring Plant Sale Friday and Saturday, April 18-19, at the McMillan Greenhouse.

“We all look forward to the energy of the spring sale, seeing members of the gardening community, students, faculty and staff, all getting excited about what they can grow,” said Paula Gross, assistant director of the Botanical Gardens. “We love being able to share the world of plants in this tangible way.”

The sale, a major fundraising event that supports the operation of the Botanical Gardens, will feature a selection of native plants and exotic botanicals, including wildflowers, shrubs, perennials, tropical plants, succulents and carnivorous plants.

Staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions and assist with plant selection. Cash and checks will be accepted during the sale. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

Friends of the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens, as well as members of the campus community, are invited to the “pre-sale” from noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 17.
