CCI student to defend dissertation

Kai Pan, a doctoral student in computing and information systems in the College of Computing and Informatics, will defend “Constraint-based Generation of Database States for  Testing Database Applications” at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, in Woodward Hall, Room 338. Xintao Wu is the dissertation advisor.

Botanical Gardens to hold bird migration workshop

The UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens is sponsoring the workshop “Fall Bird Migration with Jeff Thomas” on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15.

Participants in this two-day course will examine the lives of birds during the fall migratory season. Topics will include identification of migrants and non-migrants; energetics of migration; behavioral patterns; and habitat characteristics.
