Day of Remembrance planned for April 30
Wednesday, April 14, 2021

Friday, April 30, is designated a Day of Remembrance for UNC Charlotte, providing the campus community a chance to unite virtually and in-person to observe the two-year anniversary of the 2019 campus shooting that took the lives of Riley Howell and Reed Parlier and injured four other students.

On that day, students, faculty, staff, alumni and every member of the Niner family may take part in activities designed to honor those whose lives were lost and who sustained injuries, as we continue on a path to healing. The day will culminate with a University Virtual Remembrance program to be held with limited seating in Jerry Richardson Stadium — and available widely online — where details about a permanent memorial to the victims of April 30, 2019, will be shared for the first time.
