National Poison Prevention Week is March 21-27. During this observance, the UNC Charlotte Police and Public Safety Department will collect expired/unused prescriptions and over-the-counter medications for proper and safe disposal.
Niner Nation members and the public can deposit items in a secure drop box in the lobby of the PPS/FM Building between March 21-27. This disposal opportunity is being held to prevent accidental overdose and/or the ingesting of expired or unused medications. The Drug Enforcement Agency, N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and N.C. Safekids are co-sponsoring the event.
