Charlotte head women’s basketball coach Cara Consuegra matched the program’s all-time standard for victories and senior Octavia Jett-Wilson poured in a Halton Arena record 42 points as the 49ers closed the regular season with an 83-73 triumph over Florida Atlantic Saturday afternoon.

Consuegra, in her 10th year, pulled even with Ed Baldwin (1989-2001) as the school’s all-time winningest head coach with career victory No. 175. Baldwin accomplished the feat in 12 seasons and was on the sidelines for 366 total games, while Consuegra has led the Niners’ program in just 297 games, through Saturday, since taking the reins prior to the 2011-12 campaign.

Jett-Wilson, the Feb. 16 ESPN.com National Player of the Week, after her then-career high 42-point performance at Old Dominion six days prior, was at it again in her final regular-season game inside Halton. She matched that mark with a Halton Arena record, surpassing the old standard of 35 set two times previously, by Tonya Phifer against DePaul Jan. 28, 2001, and Ciara Gregory against Davidson Dec. 21, 2016.
