UNC Charlotte registrar Jonathan Reece is president-elect of the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO).

During this three-year leadership commitment, Reece will serve one-year terms as president-elect, president and past president of the organization, starting this year.  In 2022, he will preside over the organization’s annual meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers is a professional organization with more than 3,000 individual members, representing 500-plus institutions in 14 states and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Reece has been a member of SACRAO for 25 years and served as vice president for records and academic services and treasurer. Additionally, he has presented at numerous SACRAO sessions and conferences.

Prior to joining UNC Charlotte in 2018, Reece was registrar at UNC Wilmington. He began his career as an admissions counselor at the University of South Carolina before serving as director of admissions at Newberry College, then Lander University.

In addition to SACRAO, Reece is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

An advocate for professional development and networking, Reece said, “I would not be where I am today without the support of colleagues in the associations that have mentored me along the way.  Those networks have been very helpful in my success but also the success of the institutions for which I've worked.  It is important that I pay it forward and support not only my colleagues in the profession but those just entering. We are all in this together.”
