49ers boast impressive academic success for fall 2020

The Charlotte 49ers announced a fall 2020 semester GPA of 3.448 and a departmental cumulative GPA of 3.302 following the fall semester.

"We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our student-athletes," said Mark Verburg, director of the 49ers Athletic Academic Center. "It was a difficult and different semester to say the least, and they rose to the challenge by showing a tremendous amount of effort and resolve.; 49er student-athletes are to be commended for their commitment to academic excellence even in the most trying of times."

Each of the 49ers' programs earned a GPA of 3.0 or better and 15 programs finished the fall semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. In all, 95 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall semester.

Charlotte had 325 student-athletes earn a spot on the Athletic Director's List (3.0 cumulative GPA or higher) while 100 earned Dean's List honors (3.4-3.79 GPA) and 116 were named to the Chancellor's List (3.8 cumulative GPA or higher).

The women's tennis team led the 49ers programs with a 3.889 semester GPA while men's soccer's 3.642 semester GPA led the men's programs.

In addition, 25 student-athletes, representing nine sports, graduated in December.
