Wednesday, February 3, 2021

The Charlotte Teachers Institute (CTI), an educational partnership among Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), UNC Charlotte and Johnson C. Smith University, is focused on strengthening teaching through high-quality professional development seminars.

On Thursday, Feb. 11, CMS teachers can participate in a Zoom open house to learn more about CTI’s 2021 seminars. This year’s topics include Southern children's literature, digital mapping and gentrification, childhood mental health, embodied teaching, climate refugee stories, philosophy and education, and the science and culture of Black women's hair.

Register for CTI's open house, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Feb. 11,  to hear directly from the professors leading the seminars. Email CTI Director Scott Gartlan (scott.gartlan@uncc.edu) with questions.
