Political science professor and students exchange ideas in post-election virtual forum

eric heberligAs the dust begins to settle on an election day unique in American history in more ways than one, the UNC Charlotte community is coming together to exchange ideas and learn from each other. It's the kind of moment the 49er Democracy Experience was built for. During election seasons and beyond, the initiative provides a dynamic, nonpartisan platform for Niner Nation to learn about and engage in civic life.

In that spirit, this week dozens of students joined political science professor Eric Heberlig for “The 2020 Election Results: What Just Happened and What Happens Next?” a virtual forum during which the noted scholar and commentator fielded questions on topics from early voting to the role of political parties. The conversation was moderated by students Teheerah Smith, a double major in health systems management and communications studies, and Shaneice Board, a double major in computer science and international studies. The in-depth discussion is one among several events hosted by the University this week around democracy and the election.
