Emory University professor to give virtual talk: ‘Disability Bioethics’

Rosemarie Garland-Thomson, professor at Emory University, will give the Zoom presentation, “Disability Bioethics” at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5. The UNC Charlotte Center for Professional and Applied Ethics is sponsoring this event; register online for access.

As a professor of English, Garland-Thomson teaches disability studies, bioethics, American literature and culture and feminist theory. Her work develops the field of critical disability studies in the health humanities to bring forward disability access, inclusion and identity to a broad range of institutions and communities.

The Nov. 5 talk is the first in a series of four presentations entitled, “Stories for Survivability: How We Talk about Disability Ethics and Why it Matters.”
