Remembering D-Day

Friday, June 5, 2020

June 6, 1944, was a day that changed the course of history. Massive waves of Allied troops and weaponry came ashore on France’s Normandy beaches, to take on the fierce German occupiers and begin the retaking of Europe.

To mark the 76th anniversary of D-Day, two members of the “Pride of Niner Nation” Marching Band reflect on their time in Normandy while serving as the official band for the 74th anniversary ceremonies as well as the historical significance of Omaha Beach and the impact of experiencing it firsthand.
