“Memorial Day brings mixed emotions each passing year while I remember those in my own family as well as the individuals I served with that lost their lives. The pain of loss stings a bit less each year because of the promise I made to carry on their memories.”
On Memorial Day, Chris Brasel ’18, former Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class (FMF), U.S. Navy, visits UNC Charlotte’s Veterans Park to honor the memories of family members and friends who gave their lives serving our country.
He continues to memorialize them through his work helping UNC Charlotte’s veteran population as a member of the University’s Veteran Services office.
