Kelly Happe, an associate professor from the University of Georgia, will present “Epigenetics, Race and Justice: Rethinking the Relationship between Science and Redress” at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the Cone University Center, Room 210.
Happe, a faculty member in the Department of Communication Studies and the Institute for Women's Studies, is the author of “The Material Gene: Gender, Race and Heredity after the Human Genome Project.” She is considered a leading researcher in the field of epigenetics (the term used to describe inheritance by mechanisms other than through the DNA sequence of genes).
This event, sponsored by the Center for Professional and Applied Ethics, is free; however RSVPs are requested for the luncheon.
