Valentine’s Day is fast-approaching, which means it is time for the Botanical Gardens annual orchid sale. Orchids have a long history of being associated with love, which makes them a perfect gift.
This year’s Botanical Gardens Orchid Sale, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8, through Friday, Feb. 14, is an opportunity to purchase orchids priced starting at $10. An assortment of houseplants and succulents will be on sale, too.
Valentine’s Day Orchid Sale hours coincide with the greenhouse’s normal operating hours (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday).
“Ganache in the Gardens: A Chocolate Celebration,” a special event being held during the sale, will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Feb. 8. Learn about the cocoa tree and how its fruits are processed into delectable confections. Romantic music, a movie and free samples are part of this experience.
