3,800 to receive degrees during Fall Commencement

UNC Charlotte will wrap up the fall 2019 semester by celebrating graduates during three ceremonies this month. Fall Commencement will be Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14.

During commencement exercises, about 3,800 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students will receive degrees, including the first student to earn a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. One of the University’s newest doctoral degrees, the Ph.D. in Civil Engineering program provides education for students seeking civil engineering careers in practice, research and teaching/academia.

Commencement ceremonies will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, when the University will confer degrees upon undergraduates and graduates from the College of Arts + Architecture, College of Health and Human Services and Belk College of Business.

During a 10 a.m. ceremony Saturday, Dec. 14, the University will award degrees to undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Computing and Informatics, Cato College of Education and the William States Lee College of Engineering. Undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences will receive their degrees in the afternoon at 3 p.m.

The Graduate School will hold a hooding ceremony at 3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall. 

All commencement exercises will be in Halton Arena, located inside the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. The Office of University Communications will stream all ceremonies on the web. Details about commencement parking and transportation are on the web.
