As the fall semester kicks off, UNC Charlotte is launching an energetic media campaign aimed at boosting institutional pride and building awareness for the University’s role in shaping Charlotte and the region.
Planning for the campaign, titled “We Are All Niners,” began in late 2018. Its powerful images and distinctive message spotlight noteworthy facets of University life, focusing particularly on research and academic excellence. It underscores the idea that UNC Charlotte, recognized as North Carolina’s urban research university, supports the city’s efforts to improve lives as Charlotte remains one of the country’s fastest-growing cities.
“The scholarship and applicable research that take place at UNC Charlotte tie directly to Charlotte’s economy, while upholding the institutional identifiers that define our brand, namely, opportunity, talent, impact and student experience,” said Niles Sorensen, vice chancellor for University Advancement. “The ‘We Are All Niners’ campaign, which is designed to drive attention to UNC Charlotte’s institutional excellence, expresses that powerfully.”
The campaign is scheduled to run through November with placement throughout the city, including at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, on Charlotte Area Transit System’s buses and LYNX Light Rail, and through digital and social media advertisements.
“There exists in Charlotte a collective sense of ownership for the University and its value to the region,” said Chancellor Philip L. Dubois. “‘We Are All Niners’ speaks to our shared commitment to advance UNC Charlotte to higher levels of distinction,” he said. “It is a declaration that with support from the community, our future is bright, bold and strong.”
