UNC Charlotte’s Office of Housing and Residence Life recently received the inaugural Assessment and Impact Award presented by Skyfactor Benchworks at the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International Conference and Expo in Toronto, Canada.

Skyfactor Benchworks, which provides student affairs and academic assessments to colleges and universities, praised the University’s Housing and Residence Life (HRL) team for its educational programming on issues of diversity and inclusion.

Intercultural competence is one of three educational priorities for HRL's "Niner Blueprint" residential curriculum. As part of this curriculum, residence education coordinators and resident advisors facilitate a variety of activities that engage residents around the intersections of identity and encourage participation in difficult dialogues.
