Ragean Hill is the Charlotte 49ers executive associate athletics director. She is coming to the University from Old Dominion University, where she served as the associate athletics director for the past four years. She also has worked at Arkansas, Kansas State and Wisconsin.

“I’m so excited to join Niner Nation,” Hill said. “From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I knew it was a special place. The administration, coaches and student-athletes are all top notch. A special thank you to Mike Hill and Darin Spease for selecting me to be a part of Niner Nation. Mike Hill’s vision is clear, ‘gold standard’ in all that we do, and I can’t wait to get started.”

"Ragean is a tremendous addition to our executive team,” said Charlotte 49ers Director of Athletics Mike Hill. “Her outstanding tenure at Old Dominion and her experience at schools in the SEC, Big 12 and Big Ten will serve us well. A former track athlete, Ragean is committed to the total development of student-athletes and has prepared her whole career for an opportunity like this as she takes the baton from Kim Whitestone, whose fingerprints are all over this program."

Ragean Hill (no relation to Mike Hill) is moving into the role being vacated later this summer by Whitestone, who announced her retirement after 30 years with the program.

At Old Dominion, Hill oversaw the Student-Athlete Academic Services and Student-Athlete Development and Leadership programs and was named the Monarchs’ senior woman administrator in 2017. She served as the sports supervisor for the women’s soccer, wrestling and swimming and diving programs. Most recently, she led the search for the head coach for ODU’s startup volleyball program.

At Arkansas, she was the director of academics and a member of the leadership team for the Office of Student-Athlete Services. She developed and oversaw the Hogs in Transition program for incoming freshmen and transfers and served on the Diversity Council and assisted with the facility plans for a $24 million facility for Student-Athlete Services.

At Kansas State, Hill was assistant director for Student Support programs and program director for Football Academic Services from 2007-13. She was an academic advisor and a director of diversity and inclusion at Wisconsin in 2006-07. She began her career as an academic counselor and coordinator of multicultural programs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2004-06.

Hill earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State in 2002; her master’s degree in adult, occupational and continuing education also is from Kansas State.
