University hosting first- and second-round games for NCAA Women’s Tournament

Tuesday, March 19, 2019

UNC Charlotte, in conjunction with the University of South Carolina, will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in Halton Arena:

  • Friday, March 22

South Carolina vs. Belmont 1:45 p.m.

Florida State vs. Bucknell 4 p.m.

  • Sunday, March 24

Time to be determined after Friday’s games

The University of South Carolina, a top 16 seed in the women’s NCAA Tournament, requested UNC Charlotte to host this event on its behalf. The University agreed because of the opportunity to show off the campus to the fans of the competing schools as well as a national television audience.

It is likely the games will create some logistical challenges, especially on Friday. The University is working to mitigate the tournament’s effects on campus as much as possible.

More information about traffic, parking and tickets is available below.

Tickets

Tickets are available for purchase through the NCAA or by calling the 49er Ticket Office at 704-687-4949.
