The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association will host its annual Green Tie Gala on Friday, April 5, at The Westin Charlotte. This event raises funds to support student scholarships while offering an evening of fun for all alumni and friends of UNC Charlotte.
Each year, UNC Charlotte awards more than 1,000 scholarships to transfer, undergraduate and graduate students. Unfortunately, these are not enough to meet the higher education funding needs of the University's 29,710 students.
A portion of each gala ticket will directly support a scholarship fund at UNC Charlotte. The seven scholarships being highlighted this year include the Betty M. Stancil Scholarship Endowment, the Dr. Gregory Davis ’76 Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, the Alumni Book Scholarship, the Bonnie Cone Leadership Award, the 49er Legacy Scholarship, Project Uplift and the General Scholarship Fund.
The 2019 Green Tie Gala is being presented in partnership with Bank of America (presenting sponsor), Chartwells (green sponsor), UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business and Wharton-Smith Inc. (white sponsors) and Get In Photo Booth (in-kind sponsor).
