Registration underway for post-master’s certificate in university/college teaching

Monday, October 22, 2018

UNC Charlotte’s post-master's certificate in university and college teaching, first offered in 2017, is designed to prepare graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, current faculty and others with the skills needed for the full range of faculty responsibilities at a range of institutions of higher education.

This certificate, offered through the Cato College of Education in collaboration with the Graduate School, is a professional development opportunity. Enrollees in the certificate program will explore issues facing American college students; develop concrete skills in teaching including creating a teaching philosophy; apply effective instructional design, learning principles and curriculum models; and analyze, design, develop and evaluate online learning.

Doctoral students, adjunct faculty and lecturers who are new to teaching, academic advisors who teach college transition seminars and new tenure-track faculty who are content experts but not trained in teaching pedagogies could benefit from this certificate.

Learn more and apply through the Graduate School; Jan. 1 is the final deadline to apply for spring 2019.
