Expo to explore active learning

Active learning classroom in Kennedy Building
Tuesday, April 17, 2018

The Center for Teaching and Learning will hold its Active Learning Academy Spring 2018 Expo from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, in the Kennedy Building, Room 236.

Active learning benefits students by promoting their interaction with course work that encourages their thinking about the material rather than just transcribing content.

More than 60 faculty members participated in this year’s Active Learning Academy, and faculty teams will share how they are using active learning techniques to increase student engagement, collaboration and success in the classroom.

Attendees also will learn about resources available to incorporate active learning strategies, and there will be an opportunity to honor the loss of one of this year’s academy members, Camina Davis from the Public Health Sciences Department.

Light refreshments will be served at this event, which is open to the entire campus community. Registration is requested.
