SUAR’s Stephen Snipes is 2018’s top chili chef

Stephen Snipes, assistant director for technical services for the Student Union, Activities and Recreation Department (SUAR), was the top chef at the 2018 Staff Council Chili Cook-off and Cornbread competition.

His chili recipe claimed first prize and was named the fan favorite by popular vote of those who attended the event.

Second place went to the cooking team of Kirstan Blender and Jennifer Radley from the Environmental Health and Safety Office. Jessica “Rusti” Deal, Facilities Operations, placed third in the chili cook-off but won the top prize for best table decorations.

Krista Collins, Human Resources, won the best cornbread competition.

Maura Conway, Elaine Jacobs, Curtis Kularski, Ron Sanders and Nataly Tapper judged the annual contest.

This year six contestants vied for best chili; four entries were submitted for best cornbread.
