The NFL Carolina Panthers have added Charlotte 49ers' all-time leading receiver Austin Duke to the team's practice squad. He is now the third member of the 49ers original class to be signed to an NFL in-season roster.

Duke led Charlotte in receiving in each of the program's first four years and completed his career with all-time records for receptions (253), receiving yards (3,437) and receiving touchdowns (24).

Defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi made the 2017 Cleveland Browns 53-man roster and DL Brandon Banks is on the Washington Redskins practice squad.

In addition, running back Kalif Phillips competed throughout the 2017 preseason with the Green Bay Packers, before being waived as the team trimmed to the 53-man roster.  Jamal Covington (Kansas City Chiefs) and Kedrick Davis (Detroit Lions) received mini-camp invites in a busy summer for 49ers players.

Former 49ers defensive back Branden Dozier is a member of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes. He has made 43 defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles and has recorded two sacks.  He scored his first professional touchdown, July 14, when he returned a fumble 20 yards in a 30-20 win against Calgary.

Former 49ers DB Desmond Cooper is on the Sollerod (Denmark) Gold Diggers roster.
