Bojangles’ #RandomActsofBo campaign visited campus

Wednesday, June 1, 2016

UNC Charlotte was the location for a recently released Bojangles’ online commercial filmed on campus as part of the restaurant chain’s #RandomActsofBo campaign.

Filmed May 11 in the quad between the College of Health and Human Services and the College of Education, the video captures Bojangles’ volunteers surprising unsuspecting students with free chicken and tea during finals week.

The volunteers, wearing GoPro cameras, filmed their interaction with the students. An additional four cameras were used around the quad to document students' reactions to the unexpected gifts.

Bojangles’ worked with BooneOakley, a Charlotte ad agency, and Wheelhouse Media to produce the video. To watch the UNC Charlotte spot, posted on the Bojangles’ Facebook page, click here (copy and paste the link, https://www.facebook.com/Bojangles/videos/10156146108823647/ if necessary.)

“We are thrilled with the latest #RandomActsofBo video we produced at UNC Charlotte,” said Colby Anderson, digital marketing specialist at Bojangles’. “Since we first began conceptualizing this video, we anticipated significant logistical challenges; however, UNC Charlotte was a great partner which really eased those challenges and helped create a video that truly captures what the #RandomActsofBo campaign is all about.”

Adam Colborne, head of business development for Wheelhouse, said they filmed four exam sessions throughout the day, with word quickly spreading around campus of what was taking place.

The spot was released on Bojangles’ social media this week and has been shared widely.

This is the second #RandomActsofBo video produced, with the first taking place at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It was well received with more than 100,000 shares on social media.
