UNC Charlotte was well-represented on the 2013 Charlotte Business Journal’s list of “Forty Under 40” with staff member Ben Mohler and three alumni recognized for making major strides in their careers and having a positive impact on their communities at a relatively young age.

Mohler, a member of the University Advancement Division, is director of philanthropy and development for the William States Lee College of Engineering. He began this role in 2007, and during his tenure, he has helped implement the division’s mission of coordinating fundraising and support activities as it relates to the college.  According to the Journal’s article, Mohler was vital to the completion of the recent campaign for the University’s Energy Production and Infrastructure Center; he stated it was his greatest business accomplishment during the past year.

In addition to Mohler, three UNC Charlotte alums were on the Journal’s list of “Forty Under 40.” They were Beth Allen, audit senior manager at GreerWalker, who earned a bachelor’s in accounting in 2002 and a master’s in accounting in 2003; Beau McIntosh, managing partner at Capstone Apartment Partners, who received his MBA in real estate finance and development from the Belk College of Business in 2012; and Michael Vaccaro, senior director of women’s and children’s services at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, who completed an undergraduate nursing degree in 1997.
