The 13th annual Graduate Student Research Symposium will be Saturday, March 23, in Atkins Library. Participants will vie for more than $7,000 in cash prizes with awards presented in multiple research categories that honor the work of University graduate students.
“The Graduate Research Symposium has taken on the motto of ‘Learning Across Disciplines.’ We want our graduate research to reach out to the entire campus and for our graduates to realize the wealth of knowledge being created at UNC Charlotte,” said Joe Howarth, GPSG president. He added this event provides an opportunity for graduate students to develop and enhance their skills in research preparation and presentation. Students from all research disciplines offered at UNC Charlotte were encouraged to participate in this event. Graduate student reviewers selected this year’s entries from more than 110 submissions.
The Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG,) in collaboration with the Graduate School, J. Murrey Atkins Library and the Diversity in Information Technology Institute with sponsorship from the Charlotte Research Institute, organizes the symposium on an annual basis to foster and promote the rich and diverse research environment of UNC Charlotte.
Presentations of outstanding graduate research will be delivered between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., March 23. A reception and awards ceremony will follow. For additional information, visit the GPSG website.
