Monday, January 14, 2013

E.E. Balcos, associate professor of dance, and his company E.E. Motion are among the featured performers for the 2013 N.C. Dance Festival, which will be held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26, in the Robinson Hall for the Performing Arts.

Each evening’s program is different, featuring four diverse works. Performances will start at 7:30 p.m.

The N.C. Dance Festival is an annual showcase of North Carolina artists that travels to five communities across the state. Founded in 1991 by Jan Van Dyke and John Gamble, the festival is a unique North Carolina institution. It aims to increase North Carolina’s dance audience by building awareness of and appreciation for the variety of dancers in the state. Balcos is the festival’s coordinator for UNC Charlotte.

The University is the final stop on the tour. Tickets are $14 for the public, $9 for seniors and faculty and staff and $6 for students.
