The NCAA has announced that Charlotte and host Charlotte 49ers will be the site for the second and third rounds of the 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. The games are slated for Friday and Sunday, March 20-22, 2015, at Time Warner Cable Arena.

"We are extremely excited to have been selected, along with our wonderful partners, to host the second and third rounds of the 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at Time Warner Cable Arena," said Judy Rose, 49ers director of athletics. "I think that it is obvious that the committee feels that Charlotte does a first-class job in hosting and that our community embraces the event.  It’s wonderful to be able to bring these games to the city and the great basketball fans we have here."

The city of Charlotte is tied for third all-time with 86 tournament games hosted in its history. This will be the 22nd time that the city has hosted NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball games.

The 49ers last hosted NCAA Tournament rounds in 2011 when the second and third rounds came to Time Warner Cable Arena. The 49ers also hosted the 2008 NCAA East Regional at Time Warner Cable Arena, which was then called Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
