Sustainability Tour at UNC Charlotte Center City

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

Take UNC Charlotte Center City’s Sustainability Tour and learn why the University is awaiting the internationally recognized LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for the building. Executive Director Jerry Coughter will lead the tour from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Nov. 14.

LEED certification, awarded through the United States Green Building Council, includes verifying a building’s ability to reduce waste sent to landfills, conserve energy and water, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other attributes. This program further demonstrates the University’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.

UNC Charlotte’s Facilities Management department has received LEED certification for other new construction, including EPIC and the Bioinformatics Building.

To attend the tour, email RSVPs to Donell Stines-Jones at dstinesj@uncc.edu.
