Data expert to talk as part of GeoEarth Speaker Series

Diansheng Guo from the Department of Geography at the University of South Carolina will talk at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, in the McEniry Building, Room 117, as part of the 2012-13 GeoEarth Speaker Series.

Guo’s research focuses on developing computational methods to process and analyze huge and continuously evolving geospatial and temporal data. His research methods help to address many applied problems, such as those related to public health, national security, forest patterns and climate. He received a prestigious NSF CAREER grant in 2008.
