A celebration of life service for the late E.K. Fretwell will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow the service.
Family members of Fretwell will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at the main clubhouse of the Cypress, 3738 Cypress Club Drive. Light refreshments will be served.
Fretwell, who died Oct. 18, 2012, served as UNC Charlotte’s second chancellor from 1979 to 1989.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the E.K. and Dorrie Fretwell Scholarship for Merit in care of the UNC Charlotte Foundation, 9201 University City Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28223, or Hospice of Charlotte at 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204.
