UNC Charlotte’s Cone University Center will serve as an early voting site for all Mecklenburg County residents from Thursday, Oct. 18, through Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012.

State law allows college students to register to vote and cast ballots using their University address. To register and vote on the same day, individuals must provide proof of residence by:

  • a copy of a current and valid photo identification
  • a copy of one of the following documents that shows the name and address of the voter: current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document

Students who live on campus must present a valid University ID and log into 49er Express on a laptop or smart phone at Cone Center to verify status as a current student.

Early voting will be held in Cone Center, Room 348, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., weekdays, through Nov. 2; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 27 and Nov. 3; and 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21 and 28.
