In partnership with the Mecklenburg Cooperative Extension and the 7th Street Market, the UNC Charlotte College of Health and Human Services will host “La Vida Local: A Celebration of Real Food” in honor of the second annual National Food Day.
The celebration, which will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Oct. 24, at the 7th St. Market (224 E. 7th St., Charlotte), will include a happy hour with food tastings, guest speakers and food demonstrations.
National Food Day was created to educate consumers about the environmental, economic and nutritional benefits of fresh, local foods on communities. More information about Food Day is available on the Web at www.foodday.org/.
