The Council on University Community is accepting proposals for the Chancellor’s Diversity Challenge Fund, which supports initiatives that promote the daily value of diversity in the intellectual life of the campus. Faculty, staff or students are eligible to apply for awards of up to $5,000.
Graduate School accepting nominees for Reynolds Leadership AwardDate Published: January 23, 2019
The Thomas L. Reynolds Leadership Award will be bestowed for the first time this spring; the award will honor excellence in graduate program administration and will be presented annually to a graduate program director (GPD) or graduate program coordinator (GPC). Recipients will be selected by a committee of graduate faculty and students.

Northbound lane of Mary Alexander to close temporarilyDate Published: January 22, 2019
Between 3 and 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, the northbound lane of Mary Alexander Road, along with the sidewalk in front of Sycamore Hall, will close temporarily to allow the placement of concrete as part of the renovation project for Sycamore Hall.
Expect a concrete truck and pump truck to block the lane; flaggers will direct two-way traffic around the closure.
Employees receive priority registration for Camps on CampusDate Published: January 22, 2019
Camps on Campus is the University's summer programs of academic enrichment camps for children and young people in rising grades one through 12.
UNC Charlotte faculty and staff members will be able to register their children before the public starting at 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 28, by calling 704-687-8900. A valid UNC Charlotte ID is required.

Effective Thursday, Jan. 17, the license plate recognition and gate system for the Union Deck Levels 1-4 goes online.
Gates will be down, opening only for those with valid commuter or faculty/staff permits. Resident student permits are not valid in the Union Deck before 6 p.m.

The Human Resources Department is accepting nominations for the 2019 Staff Employee of the Year awards. Any permanent employee of UNC Charlotte can submit a nomination, and employees are encouraged to recommend colleagues for this honor.
