The Black Alumni Chapter is seeking nominations for its 2018 Excellence in Leadership Award. The program, established in 2011, recognizes the accomplishments of UNC Charlotte alumni and friends in the greater Charlotte region who have achieved excellence in the areas of education; entrepreneurship; financial services; health care; philanthropy; public service; and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Nominate a young alumna or alumnus who is making a difference in their profession and community for an inaugural 10 Under Ten Award, being presented by the UNC Charlotte Young Alumni Chapter. The purpose of the newly created honor is to recognize and spotlight UNC Charlotte alumni who have graduated within the past 10 years and who are succeeding professionally and are involved in community volunteerism and philanthropy. Nominations for the Excellence in Leadership Awards and the 10 Under Ten Awards are due by Friday, Sept. 7. Award ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12, as part of Homecoming Week.
