Women's History Month

The University joins the nation in celebrating Women’s History Month. This year’s theme, “Women Inspiring Innovation through Imagination,” specifically honors women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

In honor of Woman’s History Month, the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) will offer a series of trainings, conversations, film screenings and guest speakers that emphasize empowerment and equality in addition to a display spotlighting historic contributions by revolutionary American women and “famous firsts.”

Highlights of March programming include the Women of Color Conversation, an open dialogue converging around topics particularly relevant to students and professional women of color; two meetings of the MRC-sponsored “Let’s Talk About It” discussion series focused on gender and body image; a Feminist Coming Out Day co-sponsored by the Feminist Union aimed at increasing education and awareness about what it means to be a feminist; and an International Women’s Day celebration honoring students and faculty/staff working in international and/or women’s issues.

A full list of Women’s History Month-related events in March is listed below; for more information visit the MRC website.
