John Denti, orchid curator at the McMillan Greenhouse, will present the lunch and learn “Orchid Growing 101” at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, at McMillan Greenhouse.
Denti will demystify the care of these tropical plants by “breaking it down” to the most important factors for growing healthy orchids.

Heather Brown, executive director of the Women + Girls Research Alliance, was named co-editor of the Journal of Research and Practice for Literacy, Secondary and Basic Education. Devin Collins, assistant director business and entrepreneurial development, Charlotte Research Institute, was named by the Charlotte Business Journal to its 22nd consecutive list of the region’s “Forty Under 40.”
