UNC Charlotte is participating in the “Race to the Beach” clean commute challenge, which is under way. The contest, cosponsored by Charlotte Area Air Awareness, CATS and Sustain Charlotte, offers incentives for individuals to discover new ways to get to work besides driving alone.
The EPIC Energy and Environmental Assistance Office (EEAO) is conducting three raffles as incentives for employees and students to make healthy choices to improve air quality in Charlotte.

UNC Charlotte’s burgeoning Titan Arum now has a name – Odoardo or “Odie” for short. The flower is named for Italian naturalist Odoardo Beccari, who discovered the Titan Arum in Sumatra in 1878.

UNC Charlotte student Hunter Aldridge won first place in the final round of the Upper College Men Division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Student Auditions on July 7. Health care executive Susan DeVore and real estate developer Fred Klein will join UNC Charlotte’s leadership as new members of the Board of Trustees.
