University’s Smoking and Use of Tobacco Products Policy revised

Effective June 1,  University Policy 707, Smoking and Use of Tobacco Products, has been revised by adding a new defined term, “tobacco product,” which means a cigarette, a cigar, chewing tobacco, vapor product or any other product that contains tobacco and is intended for inhalation, oral use or nasal use.

English honored with University’s 2017 Distinguished Service Award

Dianne English, executive director of the Community Building Initiative, is the 2017 recipient of the UNC Charlotte Distinguished Service Award. In recognizing English, UNC Charlotte Chancellor Philip L. Dubois said the University is honoring an individual who truly epitomizes the term “distinguished service.”

CATS conducts ‘live wire’ test of Blue Line Extension

Recently, Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) officials conducted the first “live wire” test of the Blue Line Extension.

The overhead catenary system that powers the light rail trains was energized, and trains ran on their own power at about 10 miles per hour from the North Yard facility to the Old Concord Road bridge.

Windows computer users must take action
