Brenda McMahon, an associate professor in the Cato College of Education Department of Educational Leadership, died Aug. 16 in Toronto.
A native of Ontario, Canada, McMahon joined the University about six years ago. Colleagues remembered her as an “incredible scholar who cared deeply about her students and issues of social justice. But more importantly she was a wonderful friend whose presence on the hall has been missed and felt.”
Celebrations of McMahon’s life will be from 3 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Duke of York pub, 39 Prince Arthur Avenue, Toronto, and at her mother’s home, 1445 Forks of the Road, Caledon, Ontario, from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26.
