Betty Sue McCachren Stancil, 78, died Wednesday, July 19, at Tucker Hospice House of Cabarrus County.
Stancil began her 43-year career with UNC Charlotte in 1974 in the-then Placement Office, helping students find jobs upon graduation. In 1990, she moved to the Office of Alumni Affairs where she worked as the assistant to the executive director. She retired from full-time service in 2003 and continued immediately in a permanent part-time role.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 27, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
