Board of Governors appoints four members to University’s Board of Trustees

The UNC Board of Governors recently appointed three returning and one new member to the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees. Theresa Drew, Mary Ann Rouse (’80) and Michael Wilson (’93) are returning to the board for a second term, and J. Brett Keeter (’99) is beginning his first term as a trustee. All four were appointed for a four-year term beginning in July 2017.

Drew is the managing partner for the Carolinas practice of Deloitte, one of the largest accounting firms in the region, with more than 900 employees. She serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte and the Charlotte Chamber. Drew is a member of the Board of Trustees at Charlotte Country Day School and on the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council, International Women’s Forum, Women Executives and the National Association of Corporate Directors. She received a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Northern Arizona University.

Rouse is vice president of financial services for Carolinas HealthCare System. She has been an active supporter of the University and has served on the UNC Charlotte Foundation Board and the UNC Charlotte Facility Development Corporation Board. She also was a past president of the UNC Alumni Association. Rouse served on the UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business Alumni Interest Group, the UNC Charlotte Department of Accounting Advisory Board and the University Radio Foundation (WFAE). She completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from UNC Charlotte and is a certified public accountant.

Wilson is vice president and general counsel of Northwood Ravin and vice chair of the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees. He has been an active supporter of the University and has served on the Alumni Association Board of Governors and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Advisory Council. He also has been involved with the University’s scholarship student interview and awards process. Wilson has taught business law as an adjunct professor in the University’s MBA program. He received a bachelor’s degree in history from UNC Charlotte, and as an undergraduate student, he served as student body president. His juris doctor is from the UNC School of Law.

Keeter is district director for U.S. Congressman Patrick McHenry, the chief deputy majority whip and vice chairman of the House Committee on Financial Services. He has been an active supporter of the University, serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors for 10 years. He was president of the board during the 2012-13 academic year. A member of the Board of Advisors for the Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce, Keeter is on the Governmental Relations Committees for the Gaston, Lincoln and Cleveland County Chambers of Commerce. He completed a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in history from UNC Charlotte.

The UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees is comprised of 13 members, including eight elected by the UNC Board of Governors, four appointed by the General Assembly and the University’s Student Government Association president, who serves in an ex-officio capacity.
