Robert Hall (’08) has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the York Technical College Foundation for a three-year term.

Prior to completing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from UNC Charlotte’s Lee College of Engineering, Hall graduated from York Tech with an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering and machine tool technology.

A proponent of education, Hall said he believes in the power of philanthropy in order to assist others to achieve their full potential.

He and his wife, Jan-Rae, endowed the Robert and Jan-Rae Hall Scholarship, which awards funding to nontraditional students for tuition, books, fees and other expenses related to the cost of attendance. The UNC Charlotte Office of Adult Students and Evening Services administers the award.

The Halls also are primary benefactors for the Center for Servant Leadership at the Mindoro Bible College in the Philippines.

A member of the management team at DAK Americas, Hall also completed an MBA from the University of Dallas and a master’s in management, strategy and leadership from Michigan State University.
