ITS will push an update to Windows computers by division between June 6-9 that will reorganize the University’s Active Directory, the database that manages user accounts and groups.
On the date scheduled for each division (see below), employees should close all of their open applications and logout; leave the Windows computer on. Computers will reboot at approximately 10 p.m. For individuals who forget and turn their computer off, the update will occur when the computer is turned back on.
The upgrade for Business Affairs will be Tuesday, June 6; Academic Affairs Administrative Offices, Wednesday, June 7; Student Affairs and Chancellor’s Office, Thursday, June 8; and Athletics and University Advancement, Friday, June 9.
For off-campus users, the change will be applied to University computers when connected back to the campus network or when logging in via the VPN.
